Africa is a continent of many culture and history. Each African, regardless of which village or city he/she comes from, and why he/she is in Europe, should be proud of himself/herself and his/her origin. However,  However, some black Africans in Germany find it hard to stand up for their own identity. Instead, they present themselves as Americans, Canadians, etc.; be it in discos, among student, or among workmates.

 

We want to know, why they do this. Is is about gaining more acceptance? And should one be ashamed of ones own identity, in order to gain advantages? How can one succeed in strengthening the self-esteem of black Africans here in Germany?
